The second annual Ladies Sing the Blues is set for
November 6th 2016 @ 5 pm at the Ursuline Arts Center on Lexington Road.
The inaugural showcase, held at Lettersong Studio and Gallery, was hugely successful, thus prompting a move to the larger UAC venue this time around. Like last year, vocalists have been invited by the producers of the event, Les Reynolds and Lettersong gallery owner Jen Grove. Each artist will perform three songs (featuring blues, jazz, standards, gospel, r&b and soul tunes), followed by a grand finale with all hands and voices on stage. The intent is to build community, and to support women finding and fully expressing their voices.
Although subject to changes and additions, the artists include Kendra Villiger, Sylvia Walters, Marjorie Marshall, Carly Johnson, Amy Johnson, Sarah Breit, Tuesday Daniels, Artie Wells and Colette Delaney – a new lineup from the 2015 show.
Advanced ticket sales available– call Jen Grove 502-819-1439 and she will prompt you to fee-free ticket sales. This year’s tickets will be $20 each. It will be $25 @ the door, so buy your tickets in advance! Cash Bar. Hors d’oeuvres will be served in the theatre lobby. Doors open at 4:15.
